Emscher Lippe Energie GmbH - better known as ELE - supplies around 240,000 private and commercial customers and around 1,200 business customers in Gelsenkirchen, Bottrop and Gladbeck with electricity, natural gas and heat and also offers a wide range of modern energy services. Majority owned by innogy SE and with strong participation of the three municipalities, ELE has developed into an established local player in the Emscher-Lippe-Land since its foundation in 1999. But the number of customers is also growing outside the home market, in the immediate vicinity across the Ruhr region, but also in Lower Saxony or Hesse, for example.
