EXT:sg_account

In our TYPO3 extension sg_account various frontend account functionalities are compiled. The extension is a convenient and powerful solution that allows admins and editors to manage frontend accounts and enables frontend users to edit account data at any time.

On the one hand, the extension provides a collection of plugin content elements that can be used to create pages for registration, login, editing the account or resetting the password. On the other hand, the created accounts can be easily managed in the backend module Frontend Users, but also new accounts can be created. The module provides an overview of all accounts. Each account can be customized individually. We have also compiled editorial documentation for the module and the content elements.

However, the numerous features do not stop with the plugins and the TYPO3 module - with the sgalinski extension sg_mail, available free of charge, the email templates for automatically generated messages from sg_account, such as for confirmation of registration, can be customized. Data remains consistent thanks to multiple cronjobs. The styling and JavaScript come as an out-of-the-box solution: no customization is required before using the extension – sg_account is ready to go. All other features can be found in the overview and in detail in the highlights.

Highlights

Account Content Elements

The account plugins that you get with the sg_account extension form the basis for the numerous frontend account functionalities. With these content elements you can quickly and easily create frontend sections for users where they can create an account and log in to their account. Frontend users have the ability to view and edit their account information at any time. There is also an account element for resetting passwords in case users forget it.

For the account content elements we have created a documentation that explains how to use the plugins after integrating the sg_account extension to the TYPO3 instance and how to create the account sections.

Backend Module Frontend Users

In the included backend module Frontend Users, all accounts that were created in the frontend with the account plug-ins can be found. These can be filtered by category in the overview. Individual accounts can be customized by backend users, e.g. if users wish to do so. Admins or editors can also delete accounts or create new accounts directly in the backend module. From the module, each account can be displayed in the frontend, e.g. to check the frontend for users. The data can be exported as a CSV file at any time.

We have also created an editorial manual for the TYPO3 frontend user module.

Different account configurations on one page

With the sg_account TYPO3 extension it is possible to define different account configurations for different areas of a site. Depending on whether users create an account in the store or in the member area, only the individually required fields are available to them - for example, simple members often only need their name and e-mail address, while store users also need to enter their address. Accordingly, users do not have to enter any unnecessary information and can edit all the relevant personal and account information, depending on the area in which they are active.

The configurations can be created in the frontend users module. Editors can then simply select the desired configuration in the individual account content elements.

Social Media Logins & Design

In addition to logging in with an email address and a password, social media logins are also available to users. Registered people can conveniently log in to the user area of your site with their Facebook, Google, XING or LinkedIn account.

With the sg_account extension, you also get a great looking design right from the start. The styling of the content elements in the frontend is modern & clearly designed without any further adjustments.

Gravatar integration

Gravatar is a service that allows users to link an avatar or profile picture to their email address. Users can then use their gravatar, for example, when commenting on blog posts or in forums.

This service is integrated in the sg_account extension. Users can add the Gravatar image to their account. Alternatively, it is also possible to upload an image directly.
