The standard page is the most common page type in TYPO3. If you create and name a new page, you usually don't need to make any further adjustments. You can directly start creating content.

If you want to make adjustments to the page properties, we present the following two tabs for the standard page. These differ from the other page types. All other tabs can be found in the documentation for (general) page properties.

Tab General

Page – Type

At the top of the first tab of the page properties you always see the page type. You can change this if necessary.

AMP

AMP are Accelerated Mobile Pages. They enable mobile access to websites without long loading times. However, the output of some visual elements may be limited, so that the appearance of your page is impaired.

You can activate AMP for the current page and for all subpages. If you want to enable AMP for subpages only, check Disable AMP on this page and Enable AMP on this page and all subpages.

If AMP pages are enabled, the mobile optimized version of the page is only displayed if the user's device requires it. However, not all pages can be output as AMP without further customization.

Page Title & URL

The page title is used as the name of the page in the page tree, as the URL segment and as a menu point and browser tab title in the frontend by default. Further down you can also assign a subtitle, but this is not automatically included in the URL. The subtitle is used e.g. as a browser tab title.

If you want to use a URL segment different from the page title, you can change the URL segment directly. To do so, click on the left button (eye with link icon) to the right of the URL segment. This allows you to enter the URL directly. Only if the field is not grayed out, the segment can be changed.

If you want to change only the last part of the URL, you can enter the corresponding value under URL path segment. When you click on the right button (arrows in the circle) to the right of the URL segment, it is updated immediately. If you do not want the change to the path segment to affect the subpages, check the box Exclude from URL segment generation on subpages.

An alternative navigation title is used in the frontend wherever the page title would otherwise be visible. When updating the URL segment, it is also adapted to the alternative title. In the backend the page title remains the same.

Tab Metadata

Metatag for search engine policy

The noidex and nofollow settings tell search engines how to handle a page. Check noindex if search engines should not index the current page. This makes sense for pages that would not provide a user with valuable information such as a sitemap. Nofollow causes that links of a page are not followed by the crawlers.

Abstract

Abstracts are used for abstract menus. In addition, the text can serve as further information for search engines.

The title tag is used as the headline of a search result. It should be meaningful, unique and yet concise. To avoid shortening the headline, it should not be longer than 55 characters.

You use a canonical tag if the current page contains the content of another page. This way you link to the original page as main page. When a search query is performed, the main page is displayed. Search engine penalties due to duplicate content can be avoided.

JSON-LD for Structured Data

With structured data, Google search results can be designed differently from the normal display of results. This provides great advantages compared to other search results, because a special presentation is more noticeable.

Meta Tags

Meta Tags are further information for search engines to rate a page. The description is displayed by search engines as text of the search engine result, which can be seen under the title and in the best case gives a brief overview of the content of the page. The text should also contain important keywords for the page. To avoid being cut off, the description should not contain more than 135 characters.

Keywords are used to create a menu of related pages.

Editorial

For each standard page you can enter an author and his or her e-mail address, as well as adjust the date of the last update. This data will not be visible in the frontend. However, the actuality of a page, for example, will be included in its search engine ranking.
